Studying Abroad Can Make a World of Difference

March 16, 2015 | News

Studying abroad can be an unforgettable experience that enriches the rest of your life. Through the Greene International Education Institute at Broward College, every student has the opportunity to experience some of the world’s most intriguing countries, all while earning academic credit.

The program offers many options to study abroad. From full semester programs in Spain, Germany, Peru, India, England and Vietnam, to a number of CCIS programs in nations like Australia, Japan and Morocco. There are even short-term faculty-led trips to China, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Peru.

Depending on where you choose to travel, there are various housing options such as staying with a native family, living in a private apartment, or sharing a room with another visiting student.

Broward College student Steven Tenorio recently received the William E. Greene Scholarship for Study Abroad and the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship, which will enable him to spend a semester studying in Spain at the International College of Seville.

Born in Columbia, Steven moved to the United States when he was seven. Before pursuing his degree at Broward College, he served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked in the airline industry—attributing those experiences to affording him “a sense of humility that can’t be taught in a classroom.” Learn more about our scholarship opportunities here: offered by Broward College.
