Broward College is hosting the Festival of Music, Film, Literature, & Art (MFLA) from March 18 – 23rd with events scheduled at Judson A. Samuels South Campus. The programming includes author talks, poetry readings and more. Founded in January 2015 by the English and journalism faculty, MFLA attempts to build community by way of themed events and specialty lectures that demonstrate the intellectual, artistic, and professional impact of Humanities in the community. This year’s theme is “The Power of Storytelling”

You must drop today for a session four spring term class. If you need to see an academic adviser please visit our website to talk online or register to meet with an adviser in person.

  2. Go to the Add/Drop feature
  3. Look for the classes you want to drop
  4. press drop class button
  5. Make sure you hit the update my schedule button to drop the class

Second Annual Environmental Justice Symposium and Fair at North Campus @ Broward College North Campus

We invite you and your organization to our second annual Environmental Justice Fair and Symposium that is to take place on March 21, 2019, at the North Campus of Broward College from 10 am to 2 pm. The 2019 theme is Food Justice and we will discuss different aspects relating to Environmental Justice, food production, supply and distribution. This event is free and open to the public. Last year’s event was attended by over 150 people, along with the participation of: Catalyst Miami, Farmworker Association of Florida, Miami Waterkeeper, University of Miami School of Law – Environmental Justice Clinic, Hope, New Florida Majority, Oceana, Florida Immigrant Coalition, UHI Community Care Clinic, Sierra Club, HOPE350.org, Broward County Beekeeping Association and Urban Beekeepers, Broward Country Democratic Party Black Caucus, Republican Party of Broward County, Green Party of Broward County, Engage – voter advocacy group. We hope to see you!

Writes of Springs – The Words You Live In @ Library Auditorium Building 62, Room 154

Broward College North Campus’ 31st annual wRites of Spring Literary Festival, The Words You Live In/Las Palabras Vividas, will feature visiting poet and memoirist Richard Blanco. Focused on a theme that celebrates how the poetry of who we are informs and reflects our journeys through homes, cultures, and identities, , wRites of Spring Literary Festival will take place at Broward College North Campus Library from March 26-28, 2019.

Events will feature author readings, student art, student panel discussions, open mic, The Human Library, and film screenings of California Typewriter and Il Postino.

The events are free and open to the public, and include:

Tuesday, March 26th

Art Exhibit on Display March 26-28 (North Regional/Broward College Library Lobby)

9:30am-10:45am: “The Foods You Live In: A Window into Culture,” a student panel facilitated by Dr. Chris Gage (North Regional/Broward College Auditorium)

11:00am-12:15pm: Open Mic and Student Talent Showcase Facilitated by Professor Chad Stewart (North Regional/Broward College Auditorium)

1:00pm-3:00pm: The Human Library (North Regional/Broward College Courtyard)

3:30pm-5:30pm: Screening of Doug Nichol’s California Typewriter (North Regional/Broward College Auditorium)
