Don_CookExecutive Director of Marketing – Don Cook

Broward College recently hired Don Cook as the executive director of marketing and strategic communications. In this role he will be responsible for linking the innovation, passion and thought leadership of the Broward College team with our community and student-focused business units by building the brand, creating awareness and advocacy, and enhancing the student experience.

Don previously served as chief marketing officer at, a successful learning management systems company serving academic institutions, government agencies and Fortune 500 organizations.  At he helped market and launch more than 300 online universities. The company was acquired in 2010 by Taleo Corporation for $125 million. Most recently, he was co-founder and chief marketing officer at, the healthcare industry’s first, cloud-based electronic health record for hospitals.

He also has served the community as a board member of the Broward County Humane Society, and has mentored youths as a member Big Brothers Big Sisters of Broward County.

Director of Communications – Lesli Cartaya Franco

LesliLesli Cartaya Franco brings 15 years of experience to her role as director of communications for Broward College. Together with the marketing and public Relations team, she will be responsible for developing communication strategies that help advance the positive impact of Broward College in the South Florida community.

Prior to joining Broward College, Lesli was the Marketing and Public Relations Manager for Kids In Distress (KID), a local non-profit dedicated to the prevention of child abuse, the preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and/or neglected children. At KID, she helped spearhead the reimagining of the KID image through design, storytelling, and media relations. Previously, she was the Director of Marketing at Aventura Hospital.

Lesli is active in organizations dedicated to improving South Florida and currently participates in Class XXXIV of Leadership Broward, Emerge Broward, Gold Coast Marketing Council, and PRSA, among others.

Director of Creative and New Media – Jennifer Silverio

JSilverio-mJennifer Silverio is the owner of Coral Creative Group, a boutique branding and digital marketing company in Fort Lauderdale. Started in 2015, Coral Creative Group quickly grew to provide social media management and strategy for numerous businesses on South Florida as well as creative and graphic design for discerning clients.

After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Information Science from Florida State University, Ms. Silverio joined Broward Health in 2007. Within a corporate marketing and communications framework, she led the expansion of the hospital system’s digital reach while continuously strengthening its online presence. As the Manager of Web & Social Media, she oversaw all digital content and handled technical aspects of while supporting additional system-wide digital efforts. She established Broward Health’s social media presence, spearheaded its social media strategy and directed content coordination and planning across its social media channels.

Under Ms. Silverio’s leadership, received numerous industry awards, including the Outstanding Website Award from the Web Marketing Association. Part of the 2014 WebAwards, this award recognized for exceptional content, functionality and design among healthcare websites.

Director of Marketing – Daniela Circonciso

DanielaHeadshotDaniela Circonciso joined Broward College in 2011, serving in several roles to support the college’s marketing and communications initiatives, and rebranding efforts. As the Director of Marketing, her responsibilities include marketing enrollment & programs, managing advertising campaigns, and brand management. In her prior role as the assistant director of digital marketing and social media, Daniela launched the college’s social media platforms, earning top ranks in social media and engagement among 28 state peer institutions. Through her leadership, the college has earned several awards for creative strategy, digital execution, and storytelling.

Prior to joining Broward College Circonciso worked in strategic business development, marketing and public relations at several companies, including Zimmerman Advertising and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Circonciso earned her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Smith College and she is currently completing a master’s of science in mass communication at the University of Florida. She serves as board member of the Association of Florida Colleges-Broward College Chapter and the South Florida Interactive Marketing Association, and is active in her community to support environmental initiatives.
