Magee named associate dean at Central Campus
Jeanette Magee has joined Broward College as the associate dean of Student Affairs for advisement at Central Campus.
Before joining Broward’s staff, she served as director of academic advising at the Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University. She also has served as assistant director of academic services for the engineering department at Arizona State University and director of advising and assessment at the College of Engineering of the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Magee has worked as a consultant and outreach coordinator for UNLV’s Center for Entrepreneurship. She started her career in education as the administrative assistant to the provost of Northeastern University, in Boston, and later became the coordinator of academic advising at Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, New York.
Magee has been an instructor for college success skills courses, a facilitator for new student orientation and a panelist at the NACADA national conference. She has chaired committees on student services, advising, engineering, assessment and scholarships. She was awarded the Huizenga Business School Dean’s Gold STAR. Award in fall 2014and won the Nevada Regents and the UNLV undergraduate academic adviser awards in 2007.
Magee earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Studies – International Relations, a Master of Science degree in Counseling and College Student Development, a Specialist in Education degree in Educational Leadership and is pursuing her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership. She also earned the Lean Six-Sigma Yellow Belt Certification from the Hudson Center of Entrepreneurship and Executive Education at Nova Southeastern University.
