Broward College to Host ‘Ignite the Entrepreneurial Spirit’ Event
Broward College will bring together three local business professionals to give their expertise and real-life practical advice on how to use entrepreneurial thinking to succeed in business and life at “Ignite the Entrepreneurial Spirit.” They will explore how students who pursue their major within the context of a broad liberal arts education substantially increase their likelihood of achieving long-term professional success. This event will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 4, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Judson A. Samuels South Campus, 7200 Pines Blvd., Pembroke Pines, Performing Cultural Arts Theater (PCAT), Building 68b. The event is free and open to the public.
“We are excited to host the second event of this kind and bring together a diverse selection of entrepreneurs from different industries,” said Walter Burton, Broward College instructor of speech and host of the event. “This will be a great opportunity for students and the community to hear about the challenges and successes related to creating and growing your own business.”
Speakers for the event will include Linda Green, MD, Coral Springs OBGYN, who serves as a physician reviewer for the State of Florida and also performs minimally invasive robotic including myomectomy and hysterectomy surgery; S. Chris Palermo, founder, CEO and president of Global Communication Networks, Inc., connecting businesses with global telecom and data center solutions; and Walter Burton, who teaches a variety of communication and business courses at Florida Atlantic University and Broward College, and is a business mentor at FAU’s Tech-Runway, where he helps start-up companies grow and thrive in today’s business environment.
